THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HELPED AT AND ATTENDED THE SKC PICNIC ON JUNE 4: Special thanks to Lynn McLain, Jenny Lee, and Phyllis Brown for organizing and running the games for children and adults at the picnic. Bishop San had a wonderful time, as did all who participated! Plans are already being made to have another three-church picnic next year.

THE FARM TABLE AT EMMANUEL – IT’S HERE!: This Sunday will be the second installment of Emmanuel’s share of Colchester Farms CSA (consumer supported agriculture). Please stop by the Table in the Parish Hall, shop this week’s array of fresh Kent County produce and chat with Lisa or Libby about how this project helps those of us at Emmanuel “Care for Creation.” Help yourself to farm fresh produce; leave a free-will offering in exchange. Proceeds will be given to the Community Food Pantry

TERRACYCLE:  Prevent your empty plastic cereal bags and the plastic bag liners from cereal and cracker boxes from becoming trash – bring them to the drop off box in the Parish Hall each Sunday.  They will then get sent to Terracycle, a company that will reuse, recycle, or upcycle various materials that are usually not recyclable.  Get more information at terracycle.com

WE NEED YOUR HELP: The Garth Committee and the Altar Guild are both looking for new members.  Recently, several members of the Garth Committee and several members of the Altar Guild have resigned, some for health reasons and some due to moving out of area.  The work is not hard but the rewards are great. To learn more about, or volunteer for, the Garth Committee, contact Mackey Dutton. To learn more about, or volunteer for, the Altar Guild, contact Mary McGinnes.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL, JUNE 19 – 22, 5:15 – 8 P.M. — THERE IS STILL TIME TO REGISTER:  “Hero Central, Discover Your Strength in God”  Registration is open for VBS at the Presbyterian Church of Chestertown. To register your child, go to: http://2017.cokesburyvbs.com/PCCtownVBS.

COFFEE HOUR HOSTS NEEDED:  We are still looking for hosts for the rest of the summer.

GIVING OPPORTUNITIES:

  1. REDNER’S SAVE-A-TAPE PROGRAM.  The 1% rebates go to the Food Pantry.
  2. JUNE FOOD PANTRY DONATION REQUEST.  Hunger does not disappear with warmer weather. Please place your nonperishable food donations in the blue container in the Narthex.
  3. CELL PHONES FOR SOLDIERS.  Recycle your cell phones through the church to provide cell phones and pre-paid phone cards for our military personnel. A collection box is in the Narthex.

Collect for June 11: Almighty and everlasting God, you have given to us your servants grace, by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of your divine Majesty to worship the Unity: Keep us steadfast in this faith and worship, and bring us at last to see you in your one and eternal glory, O Father; who with the Son and the Holy Spirit live and reign, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
