Concert Series

     Each series is normally composed of five concerts. The parish welcomes everyone to our special worship services; there are no charges for these events. The five concerts for the 25th Season of the Emmanuel Concert Series feature Clive Harries, Dexter Kennedy, Maxine Thevenot, Parker Ramsey,and Ken Cowan.
Regular Subscriptions to the five concerts may be purchased for $85 per adult or $20 for children and students with ID. One may become a Patron for $125 or a Benefactor for $150. Patrons and Benefactors are listed in each concert program. Contributions above the subscription ticket price are tax deductible. A limited number of single-concert tickets, priced at $20.00 for adults and $5.00 for children and students with ID, will be available at the door. Announcements relating to weather emergencies or unexpected cancellations will be posted on the church’s website. We regret that we are unable to contact our subscribers, patrons, and benefactors on an individual basis when such changes occur.

Organ Recital: CLIVE HARRIES
Clive Harries performed a concert for us 25 years ago in our initial Concert Series. He resides in the U.K., and is involved with music in Yorkshire.

WEDNESDAY, 22 NOVEMBER                                                                                                     6:00 p.m.
Thanksgiving Evensong will be sung by Emmanuel’s Choir.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER, date to be announced                                                                            4:00 p.m.
Festival Service of Advent-Christmas Lessons and Carols. The Choir of Emmanuel will sing a festival of nine Lessons and Carols for the Advent-Christmas season.

FRIDAY, 5 JANUARY                                                                                                                         6:00 p.m.
Twelfth Night Evensong will be sung by Emmanuel’s Choir.

FRIDAY, 12 JANUARY           PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DATE                                                                                7:30 p.m.        Organ and Trumpet Concert: TIMOTHY ROBSON, PAUL NEEBE, BEN LOSTOCCO
This concert is presented by Trumpeters Paul Neebe and Ben Lostocco, and  Organist Timothy Robson as a separate program and fundraiser to support the National Music Festival lunch program hosted by Emmanuel Church each summer. Tickets will be available at the door.

Ash Wednesday
Emmanuel’s Choir will sing traditional music for Ash Wednesday.

FRIDAY, 23 FEBRUARY                                                                                                                   7:30 p.m.   Organ Recital: DEXTER KENNEDY:   An active recitalist throughout Europe and North America, Dexter serves as Assistant Organist at Christ Church, Grosse Point, Michigan. This is his second appearance on Emmanuel’s Concert Series.

FRIDAY, 16 MARCH                                                                                                                          7:30 p.m.   Organ Recital: MAXINE THEVENOT:   Maxine is organist and Director of Music at the Cathedral of St. John, Albuquerque, NM. This is her sixth appearance on Emmanuel’s Concert Series.

FRIDAY, 13 APRIL                                                                                                                               7:30 p.m.   Organ Recital: PARKER RAMSEY:  Parker is currently studying at Oberlin Conservatory. Prior to his arrival at Oberlin, he served as Organ Scholar at King’s College, Cambridge, U.K. under the direction of Stephen Cleobury. He has performed at many concert venues here and in Europe.

FRIDAY, 4 MAY                                                                                                                                        7:30 p.m.   Organ Recital:   KEN COWAN:  Ken Cowan is Associate Professor of Organ at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music in Houston, Texas. Ken is making his Twenty-third appearance on the Emmanuel Concert Series.
