PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
A prayer shawl can bring great comfort and awareness of God’s presence to anyone in need of healing or peace. At Emmanuel, a group of knitters/crocheters create these shawls, praying over them as they work. The finished shawls are then blessed during a church service and delivered to persons in need of comfort due to illness or injury. Since 2008, over 20 shawls have been created. If you like to knit or crochet, you are invited to join the ministry—everyone is welcome! The Knitters meet each Monday afternoon from 1-3 pm in the homes of parishioners and light refreshments are served. Instructions and some supplies for the shawls are provided. |
